Bank Holiday Weekend and Whitsun Half Term Availability


Treganoon Round Barn is one of our newer properties, situated just outside St Austell, near Lanlivery. As the name suggests the lounge and master double have partly round rooms, sleeping a total of 6 people.

Rosevean sleeping 7 on the edge of Bodmin Moor is a wonderful modern property perfect for exploring the area. The Tractor Shed in the centre of Bodmin is another of our newer properties but proving to be very popular for families of four.

In Falmouth The Sea House offers superb waterside accommodation for up to four people over the age of 16. With parking and within walking distance of the town, this is the ideal place to stay for getting away from it all but still requiring lots of facilities on the doorstep.

The Old Stables is a fascinating Grade II luxury modern conversion set in Mid Cornwall. Sleeping up to 10 people, perfect for a big family get together or groups of friends who just don't see each other very often.

In St Mawes, the most popular of all the villages on the Roseland we have Bosun's Lockersleeping two tucked away in a wonderfully quiet spot just off the sea front. The River House sleeps 6 people with stunning sea views, in a reverse level house. Tantallon in St Just in Roseland offers great accommodation for seven people with views of the River Fal across to Mylor.

In Portscatho, a smaller well stocked village, Hillside Cottage right in the centre of the village sleeps 5 people. Harbour Court, perfect for a couple looking to get away for the week. Merrose Barn on the outskirts of the village at Trewithian is a wonderful base for a family of four looking to explore.

Vineyard Cottage is an immaculate reverse level one bedroom property set in rolling country near Treworga. Ardevora Vean offers a couple a relaxing holiday set behind Philleigh, with nearby farm land and estuaries to explore.

In Tregony Coopers Cottage is ideally placed for exploration of Mid to East Cornwall. Especially The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Late availability discounts at Cornwalls Cottages

We are now offering additional 'Seasonal Discounts' on some of our properties for self catering holidays taken before the middle of July.

Barton Cottage in Crackington Haven is a wonderful traditional cottage in a spectacular position next door to the famous church at St Gennys which must have one of the most dramatic locations of any in the British Isles. They are offering seasonal discounts of between £64 and £143, for weeks available in June. Bringing the price down to £495 for four people for a week.

In North Helford, we have two splendid cottages, Nancenoy and Polweveral who are offering a seasonal discount of £50 off the list price for a weeks stay. They also have short breaks available from as little as £328.30. Located in the beautiful creekside hamlet of Port Navas, these terraced barn conversions are only a stone's throw away from the famous Duchy Oyster Farm.

Near Stithians in Mid Cornwall, Gribbas Cottage are offering £50 seasonal discounts as well as a late availability discount for full week bookings. This delightful one bedroom cottage with thick granite stone walls and heavily beamed ceilings, is a really proper little Cornish cottage. With prices from as little as £229.20 for a couple for a week, Gribbas Cottage is the ideal getaway.

St Ives Food & Drink Festival 2011


This years St Ives Food and Drink Festival runs from Monday 16th May to Sunday 22nd May and it's well worth a visit. There are food demonstrations, recipes, wine tasting, coastal food foraging, food market, and locally caught seafood on offer.

The hub of the festival will be on West Pier this year with the Food Producers Market taking centre stage as well as the cooking demonstrations. The Market is held on Sunday 22nd from 10am to 4pm and is a free event. Tregenna Castle are offering champagne tasting from their stand as well as a prize draw to win a Magnum of champagne.

St Ives Farmers Market runs every Thursday from the Backpackers, Lower Stennack, St Ives, which is in the town centre just up from the cinema. So if you can't make the festival you'll always find a selection of local treats in there each week.

St Andrew's Bistro are running a cooling demonstration on Saturday 21st May. On Sunday 22nd May Porthgwidden Beach Cafe are also hosting demonstrations. Both are free events.

Fal River Festival 27 May - 4th June


This years Fal River Festival is held between Friday 27th May and Sunday 5th June, with 10 days of events on both sides of the Fal this promises to be one of the best yet. Each day there are numerous events so please do see the Fal River Festival website for full details, below are a selection of events.

Friday 27th: Opening Ceremony congregating at Events Square, Falmouth.
Saturday 28th: Day Sail on the Lord Nelson, 8am - 5pm, tickets through the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
Sunday 29th: Fal River Walk. A 14 miles walk along the edges of the Fal River from Penryn at 10.30am, up to the King Harry Ferry, and back down to St Mawes.
Sunday 29th: RNLI Castle to Castle Swim, from Pendennis Headland to St Mawes Castle beach from 3pm.
Sunday 29th & Monday 30th: Fal Fish Fest, opened by Rick Stein at 11am on Events Square.
Monday 30th - Saturday 4th: Time Travellers Go... Seafaring, 11am-4pm at Pendennis Castle.
Tuesday 31st: Jewellery Making Workshop, 2-4pm Flushing Sailing Club.
Wednesday 1st: St Mawes Beer, Jazz on the Quay & Du Hag Owr, three performances with hog roast and Skinners beer from 4pm on St Mawes Quay.
Thursday 2nd: Film on the Fal. The King Harry Ferry will be showing Master and Commander at 9.40pm on the ferry. Leaves Feock side 9.20pm and Roseland side 9.30pm.
Friday 3rd: Film on the Fal. The Abyss, as above.
Friday 3rd: Grand Ball at The Greenbank Hotel from 7pm, tickets £30 (black tie) available from The Greenbank Hotel.
Saturday 4th: Start of Azores-and-Back Ocean Yacht Race (AZAB). 1300 start, viewing from St Mawes, Pedennis and St Anthony shores.

Several events are on going through the week to include a Sherlock Holmes performance from Miracle Theatre at Trelissick Gardens, and North American craft making at the National Maritime Museum Falmouth.

Helston Flora Day


The streets of Helston will be alive with music and dance for the annual Flora or Furry Day celebrations on Saturday 7th May 2011.  Marking the arrival of spring, the town’s men and women, boys and girls dress in their finest clothes and dance to the famous Flora Dance tune.  Following a traditional route, even passing through people’s homes, shops and gardens, Flora Day promises to be quite a spectacle.
